Just a short drive away is the famous Falasarna Beach, known for its soft golden sand, clear turquoise water and spectacular sunsets, not far beyond lies Balos Lagoon, a breath-taking spot where shallow waters and pink-tinged sand create one of the most unique swimming spots in Greece. You can reach it by boat or hike, depending on your sense of adventure. Gorges like Topolia and Sirikari are great for short hikes and give you a feel for Crete’s wilder side. The charming city of Chania, with its beautiful old harbor, lively market, and mix of cultures, is also just under an hour away
